The Courage to Bee, Inc.

The Courage to Bee is a dynamic nonprofit corporation with charitable and educational purposes in Texas, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

What We Do

We help build a path of quality education for at-risk youth by providing them with school supplies, technology, and skill-building workshops that support their success in school and life.

How We Do IT

We work collaboratively with school administrative teams to identify students who can benefit from our Mochilas for Bees, Workshop for Bees, and Technology for Bees programs. We also supply teachers with technology and digital resources that enable them to create a more engaging, child-centered learning environment.

Why We Do It

Education can change the course of a child's life when they are equipped with the right tools for success. However, economically disadvantaged students living in poverty face disproportionate barriers that often disrupt their K-12 education path, negatively impact their social and economic mobility, and affect their ability to complete school.

We want to help create school environments where economically- disadvantaged students:

  1. Feel safe and confident

  2. Have basic school supplies and resources they need to persist and complete their K-12 education

  3. Are empowered with skills that support their success in school and life.

The Courage to Bee works in high-poverty regions where youths are at a higher risk of school dropout. Our work expands through the state of Texas, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

One Student at a Time

The Courage to Bee is building new paths one student at a time.

Our Mission

The Courage To Bee, Inc's mission is to increase access to school supplies, technology, and skill-building workshops for economically-disadvantaged youth in grades K-12. Our work will impact students across the state of Texas, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

Our Vision

The Courage to Bee believes that every young person, regardless of their ability or background, should have the opportunity to live a safe, peaceful, and productive life. Our students and partner schools will have access to quality educational resources that support their education path and completion of their K-12 education.

According to UNESCO, about 258 children and youth worldwide are not attending school. Action must be taken to help increase the number of students who persist and complete their K-12 education. Economically disadvantaged students face disproportionate barriers that often disrupt their K-12 education path and impact their social and economic mobility. Research shows that Black, Hispanic, and Latino children are disproportionately affected by poverty. The Courage to Bee will work to provide economically disadvantaged students with school supplies, technology, and skills needed to receive a quality K-12 education, maintain school persistence and completion, and succeed in school and life.

Our projects provides the following resources to schools:

  • Experienced leadership and staff

  • Volunteers

  • Resources for students (i.e., educational materials, uniforms, workshops)

  • Cross-sector partnerships

  • Community buy-in & support

  • Financial Resources (fundraisers, grants, sponsorships, etc.)

Short-term outcomes and long-term impacts consists of:

  • Increased access to school supplies and technology for low-income students

  • Students participating in workshops are resourced and empowered to strive for K-12 school persistence and completion

  • More low-income students will have access to technology and at-home connectivity

  • Increased community engagements and long-term funding streams for schools

  • Increase the number of teachers who utilize digital subscriptions to engage students in learning
